An "Indio vacation" means different things to different people. Some like to stay active, go hiking, mountain climbing, to explore and discover new adventures. Others like to turn off their phones, shut down their laptops and delve into pure relaxation and peace. Whichever philosophy draws you in, or if it's a combination of both, a reservation at the WorldMark Indio timeshare rental will satisfy you.
Located in Indio, California in the Greater Palm Springs area, this timeshare rental is surrounded by snow-capped, chocolate mountains that appear violet in the desert haze. Just outside the lush green oasis of WorldMark Indio is a vast land of sand that stretches for miles and houses a myriad of silent wildlife. Because of its unique location in the Coachella Valley you can feel like you've escaped to a place of deep relaxation and enjoyment. The natural beauty of the area is stunning.

Of course, reclining by the pool is always an excellent way to relax. The lazy river is the perfect solution to let your cares drift away as you float along, and three bubbling whirlpools are waiting with soothing warmth for your quiet company.
The aesthetic qualities of the landscape are carefully cultivated to please. Large ponds with natural rock, footbridges, ducks, and trickling waterfalls provide a soothing ambiance for walking around your Indio resorts. Benches and picnic tables dot the area, perfect for dining alfresco.
Your unit is designed to be an oasis in itself. Calming greens and smooth tans and creams create an environment of tranquility. If you step outside the back door you will find yourself on a spacious balcony or patio with comfortable chairs and a table — the perfect spot to gaze at the beautiful mountains and golf courses or to delve into a good book.
Speaking of golf courses, WorldMark Indio is a golf enthusiast's dream. Just footsteps from the resort lies the Golf Club at Terra Lago, where you can enjoy beautiful mountain views as you swing away. While Terra Lago may be the most convenient, there is no shortage of course options in the area. There are 120 golf courses throughout the Coachella Valley, including the Tahquitz Creek Golf Resort in Palm Springs and PGA West in La Quinta.
While WorldMark Indio is a tranquil retreat and feels quite secluded, there are really so many things to do in the surrounding area. Downtown Palm Springs is just under 30 minutes away, where there is ample access to artisan restaurants and eclectic boutiques. On Thursday nights Palm Springs hosts VillageFest and the town comes alive. Artists line the streets, shops stay open late and visitors from all parts create a wonderful people-watching experience. In addition, the Palm Springs Museum offers free admission from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday nights. Visiting the galleries is an excellent way to broaden your vacation activities without spending a dime.
Take your Indio vacation to the skies! Just a short distance into the mountains is the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. The aerial tram rotates as it climbs so that you can enjoy the view from all directions as it takes you 8,500 feet into the mountains. From the top you can see a spectacular panorama of the barren desert, patches of snow and towering trees. Bring a sweater because the temperature can be much cooler at the top. There are winding walking trails so you can wander once you've arrived. If you want to grab a bite to eat before you take the journey back down the mountain there are a couple of restaurant options that have large viewing windows so that you can continue to enjoy the grand vista.
For an experience closer to the ground, be sure to spend some of your Indio vacation visiting Indian Canyons. Full of trails to explore and even a hidden waterfall, this park is greatly enriched by Native American history and caters to the naturalist, the historian and the explorer. On the weekends guided hikes are offered at select times so you can trek into the desert and learn about the local plant and animal life. The trails are open every day of the week, so bring your walking shoes and a bottle of water and get ready to explore. To truly immerse yourself in the region's offering of nature, pair a visit to Indian Canyons with a scenic drive through Joshua Tree National Park where you can see Joshua Trees and a variety of other types of desert flora. Susan and Joe Morris, owners since 1999, shared, “What a wonderful experience. The desert landscape was covered with beautiful wildflowers and flowering cacti. We would definitely recommend taking a day and driving through this beautiful National Park.”
Your WorldMark Indio resort is also an excellent base-camp for day trips to other well-known cities in California. San Diego and Los Angeles are both roughly three hours from the resort. However, you don't have to travel far for some great entertainment and fun. The Fantasy Springs and Agua Caliente casinos are both less than 30 minutes from the resort.
No matter what your vacation style is, an Indio vacation at the WorldMark Indio is simply a fantastic time for everyone. The beautiful units have everything you need so you won't lack anything during your stay. A full-sized kitchen and a gas grill, located on the balcony, make creating terrific meals a breeze. There is a washer and dryer so you don't need to stuff your bags during a long stay. Hair dryers and an iron and ironing board make getting ready for a night on the town convenient and fussfree.
In-room entertainment is right at your fingertips. Every unit has a DVD player, plus you can rent popular movie title near the front desks. In addition, there is a stereo with a CD player and you may get high-speed Internet access for a small fee if you wish to stay plugged in during your stay.
The Recreation Center is full of diverse entertainment options, such as arcade games, a foosball table, a pool table and much more. Within the same facility there is a fitness center so you can keep up with your daily routine, and on-site tennis courts provide an outlet for active fun.
Kids will love the two children's play areas. There is one playground by each pool so that they can cool off whenever they need to. Two children's wading pools create a safe swimming environment for the little ones. Nestled between one of the playgrounds and pools is a different kind of watery fun: a play-in fountain. Water sprays up from the ground like little geysers and creates fantastic fun for everyone.
